This song is the first song I wrote for the EP. Uncanny then, that it is the first you will also listen to.
I wrote this song about a monk who goes on a long journey. And at the end of the journey is a monastery where he will commune with God and the Earth and study their ways and become one with them. But this monastery is a curse, and in that monastery he finds himself in the middle of a crisis of identity, and the only way he sees to find himself is to leave. But to leave is to turn his back on his journey and his faith. Which in turn worsens his sense of self and turns into more and more self loathing.
And this is where we find our monk and our song. At that place where you hate yourself and everything you are, and you just want to leave and it's the only option you see for yourself. But it's difficult for you because leaving means leaving something behind forever. But in the end, that's all that's left, and it's just something that needs to be done and gone.
